The Spirit of Cricket Global Organisation is proud to unveil the formation of the inaugural Spirit of Cricket World XI (Over 55s) — a dynamic international team set to compete in the Spirit of Cricket Festivale from 16–24 September 2025 in Mildura, Australia.
This elite 45-over international competition, supported by International Masters Cricket (IMC) and Cricket Australia Masters, will feature the World XI, Australia, Australia A, and New Zealand in a festival that celebrates competitive spirit, lifelong friendships, and a passion for the game.

Spirit of Cricket World XI to Make Historic Debut
The Spirit of Cricket World XI (O55s) will bring together players from around the globe under one banner — a team defined not by geography but by a shared love for cricket and its values. This milestone gives Over 55s players from all IMC member countries a rare opportunity to play international cricket at an elite level.

Mark Kratzmann Appointed Captain of the Global Spirit of Cricket World XI
Former Australian tennis prodigy and Hong Kong international cricketer Mark Kratzmann has been named captain of the World XI team. Kratzmann’s journey is as remarkable as it is inspiring — after reaching world No. 1 in junior tennis and capturing titles at Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and the US Open, he transitioned to international cricket in Hong Kong where he flourished as a hard-working and elegant top-order batsman. As a cricketer, Kratzmann averaged 66.63 in Hong Kong’s top Premier division with eight centuries in a standout season and later represented the national team in the ICC World Cricket League Division Three.
“It’s a privilege to captain this team and unite players from around the world.” said Kratzmann. “I’m looking forward to playing high-quality cricket and taking a few scalps along the way — and maybe reminding a few Aussies what I can still do with the bat!”

Former Australian Test Bowler Adam Dale Joins the World XI
Adding firepower and experience to the team is former Australian Test and ODI cricketer Adam Dale, widely regarded as one of Australia’s most intelligent and consistent bowlers of his era. Dale’s first-class career is filled with accolades — 245 wickets at an average of 20.75, appearances for Australia in 2 Tests and 30 ODIs, and selection in Australia’s 1999 Cricket World Cup-winning squad.

Known for his ability to swing the ball both ways, relentless accuracy, and control of line and length, Dale was a bowler trusted in pressure moments — often opening the bowling in Australia’s golden era of one-day cricket.
“This format really excites me,” said Dale. “It’s a fantastic way to give back to the game that gave me so much. I’m eager to get that RJR ball swinging — and I might even push my case to bat higher up the order!”
Dale’s inclusion not only strengthens the team but elevates the prestige of the event, bringing international-level performance and professionalism to the World XI lineup, but signals the quality of cricket that can be expected in Mildura this September.
